The State Government has firmly debunked speculations surrounding the recent rescue of abducted citizens, asserting that the success was entirely the result of a tactical, intelligence-driven operation by security forces, with no financial exchange involved.
Speaking on a live television broadcast this morning, the Commissioner for Information, Usman Tar, strongly defended the integrity of the operation against mounting rumors that a ransom had been paid to secure the victims’ release.
Tar described the mission as a “daring, intelligence-driven military operation” executed through the seamless collaboration of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Department of State Services (DSS).
”This was a highly coordinated, tactical breakthrough achieved by our security agencies who put their lives on the line,” Tar stated during the broadcast. “To attribute this success to a ransom payment undermines the bravery and strategic brilliance of our military and DSS personnel.”
Challenging the critics and purveyors of the rumors, the Commissioner threw down a gauntlet to the public, daring anyone with contrary facts to present them openly.
”We are running a transparent administration. If anyone has a shred of evidence that ransom was paid to these criminals, I challenge them to come forward with it,” Tar added.
