In fulfillment of his commitment to enhance statewide connectivity of the state, The Governor, Senator Bassey Otu has on flagged off, the Construction of 10 kilometer inter local government area road
The road from Ndok junction to Mbube in Ogoja linking -Okubushuyu Road in Boki Local government Area is to enhance state wide connectivity through viable Roads Network.
Flagging off the road ceremony at Ekumtak – Mbube Ogoja Local Government Area, the Governor Bassey Otu who was represented by his Deputy Governor, RT HON. Peter Odey describes the project as a deliberate intent of the administration of Governor Otu to open up rural communities to stimulate economic activities and improve rural transportation under the first phase
While the second phase the Governor noted will extend from Mbube East to Utugwang in Obudu Local Government Area of the state.
This project is aimed at opening up our rural communities and improving the transportation network to boost commerce and enhance the quality of life for our people,” the deputy governor said. He further noted that the current phase will be extended in the near future from Mbube East to Utugwang in Obudu Local Government Area.
Sen Otu charged the Contractor to ensure that the project is delivered on best global practices and advised him to prioritize local content through engagement of community based labour with emphasiz on the Youths for jobs creation and enhance local participation
“We want to see local participation—not just to accelerate work, but also to foster a sense of ownership among community members and improve their economic well-being,” he added.
He expressed appreciation to the people of Ogoja for their consistent support to Governor Otu’s administration and reiterate the government’s resolve to ensure that this part of the state is deliberately connected with functional and economically viable Roads Network for growth and development.

The Commissioner further revealed that over 12 Kilometers road rehabilitation are currently ongoing within Ogoja metropolis because of the governor’s commitment to inter community connectivity in the rural development
some Traditional rulers and Elders described the governor’s initiative, as a sign of responsive and visionary leadership. and pledged their unflinching support as they offer prayers for the continued success of the administration.
