Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, on Friday, July 17, 2026, joined prominent leaders and well-meaning Nigerians to celebrate former Minister of Power, Prof. Bart Nnaji, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. ​
Speaking at a celebratory event held in Enugu, Governor Mbah lauded the world-renowned Professor of Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing for his patriotism, particularly his decision to bring his wealth of international expertise back home to drive development in Nigeria.
​”Prof. Bart Nnaji represents the finest of our intellectual exports, but more importantly, he exemplifies the spirit of homecoming,” Governor Mbah stated.
“At a time when the nation desperately needs sustainable infrastructure, his investments in the power sector, most notably the geometric power project stand as a testament to what is possible when diaspora expertise meets local commitment.”
​The Governor emphasized that Nnaji’s contributions stretch far beyond academia into practical, nation-building solutions that continue to impact Enugu State and the wider Southeast region. He wished the elder statesman continued good health and wisdom in his service to the nation. ​
The milestone celebration attracted a distinguished gathering of captains of industry, academic dons, and senior government officials, all paying tribute to Nnaji’s pioneering work in engineering and private-sector-led electricity generation in Nigeria.
