Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has expressed his administration’s sympathies to communities and families affected by recent bandit attacks across the state. In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, Lawal disclosed that he convened and presided over an emergency security meeting on Friday at the Government House conference room in Gusau to address the rising insecurity.
The statement noted that the meeting brought together heads of security agencies and other relevant stakeholders as part of renewed efforts to curb criminal activities in the state. “In his administration’s resolve to end the insecurity affecting Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal convened an emergency security meeting with all heads of security agencies and relevant stakeholders in Zamfara State,” the statement read.
It added that the meeting underscored the shared commitment and collective responsibility of the state government and security chiefs to safeguard lives and property. According to the statement, deliberations focused on strengthening intelligence gathering, enhancing inter-agency coordination and deploying additional strategies to confront banditry and related crimes.
Governor Lawal reaffirmed his administration’s determination to restore peace and stability, assuring residents that decisive steps were being taken to confront security threats and protect vulnerable communities. He also urged citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information, stressing that lasting peace would require collaboration between the government and the public.
