The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), located in Kajola Local Government, Oyo State, has announced that its pioneer cohort of students will resume on Friday, March 6, 2026.
The declaration follows the university’s inaugural statutory Senate meeting, held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, during which the academic roadmap for the institution’s first-ever students was formally ratified.
In a statement released by Amuni Mohammed Olayinka, the Registrar and Secretary to the University Senate, FUNATO confirmed that the Senate’s decision was based on comprehensive assessments of the university’s preparedness.
“The University Senate, at its 1st (Inaugural) Statutory meeting, received reports from the University Management and Committee of Deans and Directors on the preparedness of the university towards students’ resumption,” Olayinka stated, highlighting the institution’s readiness for its historic takeoff.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for the new university, signaling the beginning of academic activities for its first batch of students and reinforcing its commitment to providing quality tertiary education in agriculture and technology in Oyo State.
