Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has appointed a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and a new Chief of Staff at Government House, Port Harcourt.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, the governor named Dr Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as the new SSG and Barrister Sunny Ewule as his new Chief of Staff.
The appointments were announced in a Special Government Announcement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onwuka Nzeshi, and made available to journalists.
The statement noted that both appointments take immediate effect. However, no reason was given for the removal of the former occupants of the offices.
It further stated that the swearing-in ceremony for the new appointees would take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Port Harcourt.
“The Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has appointed Dr Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as the Secretary to the State Government and Barrister Sunny Ewule as the Chief of Staff.
“Both appointments are with immediate effect. The new appointees will be sworn in at 2:00 p.m. today, Thursday, February 26, 2026.
“The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Port Harcourt,” the statement read.
The development marks a fresh reshuffle in the governor’s administrative team as his administration continues its governance agenda in the state.
