Four individuals abducted along the Omu-Aran-Isanlu-Isin Road in Kwara State on January 5, 2026, have regained their freedom, a security source confirmed. The released victims are currently receiving medical treatment in various hospitals in Ilorin and Omu-Aran.
However, insecurity continues to plague the area. According to the source, on Tuesday evening, one person was killed and another abducted along the Correctional Centre Road, sparking panic among residents of Isanlu-Isin and neighboring communities. The fear has led to the temporary closure of some schools in the region.
In a related development, a suspected bandit disguised as a beggar was arrested in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area, on Tuesday evening, raising hopes that security forces are intensifying efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements while security agencies continue operations to ensure the safety of communities along major routes in Kwara State.
