It was a good night for Chris Nduka Eseka on Sunday, the 11th of May, 2025, while on a visit to the hospital.
Chris, the first son of
Late Chief Emmanuel
Osekenefu Eseka of Umu Issaseke family, Ejeme kingdom, was born on the 1st of April, 1954. He attended Ika Grammar School Agbor,1971 to 1976. He started his career as a writer and sports journalist with the Nigerian Observer Newspapers, Benin-City, in the old Bendel State. But his dexterity endeared him to the indefatigable Chief MKO Abiola, the publisher of Concord Newspapers, Lagos.
It was in Lagos that The Dream formed a great bond with Mallam Danladi Bako, the original Grand Master of NTA Channel 5, and that union, gave birth to the popular sports TV programme, called *Mastersports*.
Chris moved from sports journalism into footballers’ management and Marketer. He had a great time managing footballers that the likes of late Uche Okafor, Austin Eguavon, Ike and Uche Kalu, John Utaka, Christian Obodo, Aloy Agu, Garba Lawal, Issac Okonkwo and many other players benefited from his managerial skills. Not to talk about journalists who climbed the ladder through you.
Little wonder, most of these journalists called you Bros. We call you The Dream. And we dreamt a lot about success with you as a guide. My company, defunct *dbs media Ltd* enjoyed your benevolence beyond measures.
The Dream, you served and played your lovely part before walking away.
Sirs Clemence Westerhoof and Bonfere Joe can never forget you in a hurry. So also, some of us.
Your generosity, humility and kind-heartedness was the pride of Ejeme kingdom both home and abroad.
Chris left two lovely sons and a devoted wife among others to mourn him.
Adieu Uncle Chris! Adieu The Dream!! Adieu Bros, until we meet again!!!
