First Lady Disburses ₦250m to Boost Bauchi Women’s Businesses

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, disbursed ₦250 million to empower 500 women in Bauchi State on August 15, 2025, under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Economic Empowerment Programme, in partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation. Each beneficiary received a “whooping” ₦50,000 grant to support small-scale businesses, aiming to enhance their social and economic well-being. Speaking at the event in Bauchi, Tinubu emphasized, “When you empower a woman, you empower a household,” highlighting the initiative’s goal to uplift families and communities through direct financial support.
