Nigeria’s First Lady, has assured Nigerians that the administration of President remains fully committed to restoring peace and security across the country, expressing optimism that the nation would soon overcome the wave of insecurity troubling several regions.

Addressing the monarchs and stakeholders at the gathering, the First Lady described the increasing cases of kidnappings, killings and banditry in parts of the country as painful and disturbing, stressing that the Federal Government was intensifying efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property nationwide.
She explained that although many security strategies were already being implemented by the government and security agencies, some of the details could not be made public for strategic reasons.
According to her, the Tinubu administration has continued to strengthen internal security architecture while also building international partnerships aimed at tackling terrorism, kidnapping and other violent crimes threatening national stability.
Mrs Tinubu said President Tinubu had demonstrated strong political will in confronting insecurity and had initiated collaborations with developed nations to improve intelligence gathering, surveillance and operational efficiency among Nigerian security agencies.
“President Tinubu has entered into partnership with developed countries like the United States of America and others, and is taking internal security measures to smash those terrorising the country and stoking the fire of killings and kidnappings across the geopolitical zones,” she said.
The First Lady’s remarks came in response to concerns raised by traditional rulers in Ekiti State over the growing security challenges in parts of the country. The monarchs had urged the Federal Government to consider reviewing existing laws on kidnapping and accelerate efforts toward the establishment of state police as a means of improving grassroots security and rapid response to criminal activities.
The call for state policing has continued to generate national debate in recent years, with many political leaders, governors and traditional institutions arguing that decentralised policing would help curb insecurity more effectively, especially in rural communities vulnerable to attacks by armed groups and kidnappers.
Mrs Tinubu acknowledged the concerns of the royal fathers and assured them that the Federal Government was listening to the yearnings of Nigerians. She said the administration understood the fears of citizens and was determined to provide lasting solutions to the country’s security problems.
She further appealed to traditional rulers and community leaders to continue supporting government efforts by cooperating with security agencies and promoting intelligence sharing within their domains.
The First Lady also commended the traditional institution in Ekiti State for maintaining peace and stability and thanked them for their support for President Tinubu’s administration as well as the government of Governor.
She described traditional rulers as critical partners in governance and national development, noting that their closeness to the grassroots made them important stakeholders in the fight against insecurity.
Mrs Tinubu’s visit to Ekiti State formed part of her ongoing engagements across the country aimed at promoting government programmes, strengthening ties with communities and mobilising support for initiatives targeted at improving the welfare of Nigerians.
In recent months, insecurity has remained a major concern across several parts of Nigeria, with reports of kidnappings, bandit attacks and communal violence prompting renewed calls for stronger security reforms and improved protection for citizens.
Despite the challenges, the First Lady expressed confidence that Nigeria would eventually triumph over criminality, urging citizens not to lose hope but to continue supporting the efforts of the government and security agencies.
She reiterated that the Tinubu administration was focused on building a safer and more secure nation where citizens could live, work and carry out their daily activities without fear.
