The Federal Government has ordered the shutdown of 41 Federal Unity Colleges following heightened security concerns in several regions of the country. The directive, issued through a circular dated November 21, 2025, from the Federal Ministry of Education, stated that the decision was approved by the Minister of Education after a review of recent developments affecting safety in parts of the North-West, North-East, North-Central and some southern states.
The circular, signed by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Abdulkadir, instructed principals of all affected schools to close their campuses immediately and ensure full compliance.
