Multi-award-winning filmmaker and media visionary Femi Odugbemi has raised the curtain on BLACKBox, an innovative creative hub designed to revolutionize storytelling, content innovation, and professional training in Africa’s entertainment capital.
Nestled in the heart of Lekki, BLACKBox blends high-end production facilities with an intimate learning environment, offering a playground for filmmakers, TV producers, documentarians, and branded content creators to turn ideas into impactful screen experiences.
With space for up to 50 participants, the hub is kitted out for hands-on workshops, breakout sessions, and dynamic roundtable discussions — all engineered to spark collaboration and bold creativity.
“BLACKBox is more than just a space,” Odugbemi explains. “It’s an ecosystem for shaping compelling African stories with global impact — stories that are authentic, innovative, and commercially viable.”
Beyond being a training ground, BLACKBox doubles as a project development consultancy, offering strategic guidance to both emerging and established creators. The hub will roll out a roster of training intensives, masterclasses, and mentorship programs covering everything from script development and directing to production design and audience engagement.
Adding muscle to its vision, Odugbemi’s award-winning production house, Zuri24 Media — creators of hit TV series Battleground, Brethren, Covenant, and acclaimed films like Gidi Blues and The Man Died — will now operate from the BLACKBox facility, giving trainees real-time exposure to industry-grade productions.
By uniting artistic mentorship, strategic consultancy, and active production in one location, BLACKBox is set to become a launchpad for the next generation of African storytellers — a place where craft meets commerce, and local narratives gain global traction.
