NNPC Limited has announced the successful restoration of the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in Warri, Delta State, south-south Nigeria, following the unexpected explosion which occured on the pipeline on December 10, 2025.

In a press release Monday, the company stated that following the unexpected incident, it immediately activated emergency response, deployed coordinated containment measures, and worked tirelessly with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the damaged section was repaired, pressure-tested, and safely recommissioned.

The statement noted that the pipeline as at Monday, 29th, December, 2025, is now fully operational, reaffirming the NNPC’s resilience and commitment to energy security.

“This achievement was made possible through the unwavering support of our host communities, the guidance of regulators, the vigilance of security agencies, and the dedication of our partners and staff” the statement further declared, noting that with such collaboration, the NNPC was able turn a challenging moment into a success story, restoring operations in record time while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
