The Katsina State government has announced the lifting of the curfew that was imposed following the #EndBadGovernance protest, which had been hijacked by some individuals who vandalized public property.
This development was communicated in a statement by Mr. Abdullahi Aliyu-Yar’adua, the Director of Press in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), on Tuesday in Katsina.
“Due to the restoration of peace and stability across the state, the acting governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, has decided to lift the curfew with immediate effect,” the statement read.
The acting governor emphasized that the decision to remove the curfew was made to allow residents to resume their daily activities without hindrance.
The state government also urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities for swift action. Additionally, the acting governor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing the security challenges facing the state.
He expressed gratitude to the security agencies and the people of Katsina for their support and cooperation during the period of unrest. Furthermore, he called for continued support, collaboration, and prayers to ensure lasting peace in the state, noting that “no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of insecurity.”
