Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS) Limited, operator of the T2 brand formerly known as 9Mobile, has commended the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) for its role in resolving long-standing commercial disputes within the advertising industry.

The company said the development underscores the effectiveness of regulatory intervention in promoting fairness, stability and cooperation among stakeholders in the advertising ecosystem.
EMTS made this known during a courtesy visit to ARCON, led by its Chief Operating Officer, Mr John Vasikaran, alongside other senior executives of the telecommunications firm.

During the visit, the company formally notified the council of the successful resolution of payment disputes between EMTS and several advertising agencies, following a mediation process facilitated by ARCON.
According to industry sources, EMTS confirmed that it has fully settled all outstanding obligations to advertising agencies through an instalment payment agreement brokered by the council.

The settlement addressed historical debts that had previously strained relationships between the telecom operator and its service providers.
The intervention by ARCON is said to have helped restore confidence and rebuild trust between EMTS and agencies operating within the advertising value chain, paving the way for improved collaboration going forward.

EMTS executives expressed appreciation to the council for its professional handling of the matter, noting that the outcome demonstrates the importance of strong regulatory frameworks in resolving disputes and ensuring sustainable industry practices.

The resolution is expected to strengthen industry relations and set a positive precedent for how commercial disagreements can be addressed through dialogue and regulatory mediation within Nigeria’s advertising sector.
