Ecobank Nigeria has launched the Ecobank Business App, a digital banking platform designed to strengthen the growth and long-term sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across the country.
The app is aimed at simplifying business banking by enabling entrepreneurs and business owners to manage payments, monitor transactions, oversee cash flow and run day-to-day financial operations directly from their mobile devices. By digitising these processes, the platform is expected to eliminate delays, long queues and operational inefficiencies commonly associated with traditional banking.
Speaking on the launch, the Executive Director of Consumer and Commercial Bank at Ecobank Nigeria, Mr Kola Adeleke, said the app was developed in response to the unique challenges faced by Nigeria’s diverse SME ecosystem.
According to him, the Ecobank Business App is designed to serve a wide range of enterprises, cutting across traders and retailers, tech start-ups, online and social commerce businesses, hospitality operators, farmers, agro-processors, manufacturers and construction firms.
Adeleke added that the platform also caters to professionals, schools, associations and other organisations that require transparent, efficient and secure financial management solutions to support their operations and growth.
He explained that the app provides SMEs with greater control over their finances, helping them make informed business decisions while improving efficiency and accountability.
Ecobank noted that the launch of the Business App aligns with its broader commitment to empowering SMEs, which are widely regarded as the backbone of Nigeria’s economy. By leveraging digital innovation, the bank aims to support entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses, improving cash management and driving sustainable economic growth.
