As Christians in Akwa Ibom State and across the world commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the State Police Command, has assured the general public of the safety of lives and property before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, who gave the assurance said the command has deployed adequate human and material resources across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State to ensure peaceful celebration devoid of fear or threats.
” High visibility policing has been activated with strategic deployment of personnel to churches, event centres, motor parks, major highways, recreational grounds, and other vulnerable points”.
According to the statement, “Our men will embark on aggressive but professional foot and vehicular patrols across the state. All deployments are intelligence-driven, and officers have been warned to remain civil and respectful while discharging their duties”.
The CP congratulates all Christian faithful on the successful completion of the Lenten season, which is a solemn reminder of sacrifice, redemption, and hope and called on residents to celebrate responsibly, remain law-abiding, and be security conscious at all times.
