The Democratic Republic of Congo allegedly entered into a deal to pay FC Barcelona over ₦70.85 billion for a sponsorship deal that will promote tourism in the eastern African country.
According to the partnership, Congo will pay FC Barcelona €10 million to €11.5 million every year for four years for rights to advertize the African country on the club’s jerseys, magazine, annual reports, websites, and advertising spaces.
The sponsorship will feature DR Congo as the “Heart of Africa” in terms of tourism and travel destination. It follows similar deals with AC Milan and AS Monaco at €14 million and €1.6 million respectively per season.
