The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will begin nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, and other major users starting August 15. In a press statement issued recently, the company confirmed the deployment of 4,000 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers and the creation of logistics hubs and daughter booster stations to ensure seamless delivery across the country.
The initiative aims to tackle high logistics costs and energy inefficiency while supporting job creation, fueling small businesses, and strengthening fuel access nationwide. All registered petrol stations purchasing directly from the refinery will benefit from reduced transport costs and inflation-buffered prices, with additional credit facilities extended to those purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres over two weeks. The refinery also promises to revitalize dormant retail outlets, boost rural access, and support the growth of SMEs.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery described the move as a “milestone in our vision to revolutionize Nigeria’s energy sector,” stating that its goal is to make energy more affordable and accessible to all. The registration process for stakeholders, including KYC verification, will run from June 16 to August 15.
