British–Nigerian actor Damson Idris has revealed that he has never been turned down for a date, stating in a relaxed interview with Amelia Dimoldenberg that “I have never been turned down for a date.” He explained that every woman he has ever shown affection to has reciprocated his feelings, casting his romantic life in an almost perfect light.
During the interview on Chicken Shop Date, Idris also cracked a memorable line when asked which character he would love to play. He looked across the table and said calmly, “Your boyfriend,” a move that left the host visibly stunned. He further charmed the audience by gently holding her hand and kissing it, delivering one of the most flirtatious moments in the show’s history.
Idris’s confident demeanor extended beyond that moment. When asked whether he’s a method actor who stays in character off-camera, he laughed and clarified that he’s not, recalling how his family quickly reminded him to ditch his American accent at home whenever he overdid it. He has also maintained discretion over his personal life. His last public relationship was with American model Lori Harvey, which ended in November 2023 after a year of mutual focus on individual paths.
