The Senator representing Delta Central, Ede Dafinone, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State to embrace unity and inclusiveness as the party intensifies efforts to build a formidable structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dafinone made the call on Tuesday while speaking at an end-of-year luncheon for APC members drawn from the eight local government areas of Delta Central, held at his residence.
He said the party must reflect on the lessons from the 2023 elections and take deliberate steps to strengthen internal cohesion in order to improve its electoral fortunes.
According to the senator, disunity and internal divisions weakened the party’s performance in previous elections, stressing that a united front would be critical to the APC’s ambition of winning all elective positions in the state in 2027.
He urged party loyalists to work closely with new members and returnees, noting that inclusiveness and cooperation were essential to expanding the party’s base and consolidating its presence across Delta State.
“Unity remains our greatest strength,” Dafinone said, adding that the APC’s success in future elections would depend on the ability of members to put collective interests above personal ambitions.
The lawmaker also encouraged sustained grassroots mobilisation and consistent engagement with constituents, saying these efforts would help position the APC as a credible alternative capable of delivering good governance to the people of Delta State.
