The Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone ‘B’ of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Kaduna intercepted 185 blocks of Cannabis Sativa valued at N48.5 million, along with other contraband worth N220.4 million, in separate operations on August 21, 2025. According to a statement issued on August 28, 2025, by Chief Superintendent of Customs Saidu Nuruddeen, Public Relations Officer, the cannabis seizure occurred at 3:30 a.m. along the Zaria flyover on the Kaduna-Zaria Expressway, where operatives stopped a vehicle based on intelligence and arrested a male suspect after discovering nine sacks containing 185 compressed blocks weighing 89.6kg, with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N48,562,500. Other seized items, including rice, used vehicles, and petroleum products, contributed to the N220.4 million total.
