A Kano Sharia Court on Wednesday ordered that a motorpark boy, Abdullahi Bala, who pleaded guilty to assaulting his colleague, should be remanded in a correction centre.

The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal, who gave the order, adjourned the matter until  May 15 for summary trial.

Earlier, the police charged Bala, who lives in Fagge Quarters, with causing grievous hurt.

The Prosecutor Council, Zahraddeen Abubakar, told the court that  Muhammad Yakub, who is the complainant, reported the matter at the Fagge Police station on April 17.

He alleged that at about 5:30p.m, the defendant and Yakub had an argument in the park over who would carry some bags for passengers.

The police said that the defendant beat up the complainant with an iron rod causing injuries on his forehead and ankle.

He said that the complainant was rushed to a near-by clinic for medical attention.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 158, 159 and 165 of the penal code of law of Kano state.

The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.
