The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is gearing up to induct over 1,000 new members at its upcoming annual international conference, ConNovate 2025 , slated for Kano, reported by ITREALMS .
NCS President Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu disclosed this to ITREALMS during a press conference held at the society’s national secretariat, is coming with theme: “Intelligent, Secure, and Sustainable Innovations for a Connected World,” is scheduled to run from August 11th to 14th, 2025, between 9 am and 5 pm daily.
Dr. Aliyu emphasized that the theme for ConNovate 2025 was chosen to address the critical need for advanced technological frameworks that prioritize intelligence, security, and sustainability.
“In an era of rapid digital transformation, interconnected systems, and global challenges, ConNovate 2025 aims to foster collaboration among industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and tech enthusiasts to develop resilient, inclusive, and sustainable solutions,” he stated. ConNovate 2025 will be the 19th International Conference on Technology and Computing organized by the NCS. As Nigeria’s first IT event and a leading platform in Africa, it will be a hybrid event, offering both physical and virtual attendance to ensure global accessibility.
The conference, he further said, will feature over 40 sessions and workshops, more than 300 paper submissions, and is expected to attract over 2,500 delegates and 55 partners and exhibitors. The event will cover key sub-themes such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy, Blockchain and Cryptography, Sustainable and Green Technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing and Big Data Analytics, Robotics and Automation, and Smart Cities and Digital Transformation.
Distinguished guests expected at the conference include Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State; Dr. Bosun Tijani, Hon. Minister of Communication and Digital Economy; Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, Director General of the National Identity Management Commission; and other prominent figures from government, industry, and international IT communities.
President Aliyu was joined at the press conference by the deputy president, Dr. Charles C. Onyeukwu; Chairman, Conference Committee, Prof. Adebukola Onashoga; Chairman, Innovation, Research and Development Committee, Dr. Olusoji B. Okunoye; Chairman, Publicity Events and Trades Services Committee, Mrs. Shulammite A. Ilebiyi; and Executive Secretary at NCS, Mr. Segun Adekunle. While other National Executive Committee (NEC) members who joined virtually included the Zonal Coordinator South East, Dr. Stanley Adiele Okolie; his counterparts in the North East and South West, Mrs. Margaret John David and Mr. Tunde Ogunremi, respectively, as well as the President, Nigerian Women in Information Technology (NIWIIT), Dr. Mrs. Olukemi Sade Ayodele.
