Today, June 4, 2025, we celebrate the 65th birthday of Ikeddy Ikechukwu Isiguzo, a stalwart in Nigerian journalism whose career spans over four decades. His journey began in 1978 as a sports reporter at The Punch, and he subsequently held pivotal roles at The Guardian and Vanguard Newspapers. At Vanguard, he rose through the ranks to become Chairman of the Editorial Board from 2005 to 2015, shaping the publication’s editorial direction with incisive commentary and unwavering integrity. Beyond Vanguard, Isiguzo is currently Editor-in-Chief at Momentum Africa Media, continuing to influence the media landscape with his insightful analysis. His commitment to excellence is further evidenced by his academic pursuit of an MSc in Media Enterprise from Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos. Throughout his career, Isiguzo has been instrumental in mentoring the next generation of journalists, sharing his expertise through lectures and training programs.
