The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged Christians to use the Easter season for deep reflection, earnest prayer, and spiritual renewal.

In a statement marking the occasion, CAN President Archbishop Daniel Okoh called on the faithful to strengthen bonds of fellowship, show compassion to those in need, and work toward building a more just and caring society.

“This Easter, let us be intentional in acts of kindness and charity, reaching out to the marginalized and the suffering,” Archbishop Okoh stated.

“Let us also promote dialogue and reconciliation, working towards greater unity within our communities and across the nation. In the spirit of Easter, let us reach out to neighbors of other faiths, fostering mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.”

Archbishop Okoh also acknowledged the challenges faced by Christians, particularly those enduring persecution for their faith in certain regions.

Despite the adversities, he emphasised that the spirit of Easter remains steadfast as the resurrection of Jesus Christ affirms that light will always triumph over darkness, and love will conquer fear.

The CAN president congratulated Christians both in Nigeria and around the world, describing Easter as a moment of deep spiritual significance.

“As we commemorate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, we are reminded of the ultimate sacrifice He made for the redemption of humanity,” he said.
