Dear Senator:
You voted to suspend Sen.Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for complaining that the Senate President sexually harassed her. You also voice-voted for the illegal suspension of a duly elected Rivers State Governor. But you are now righteously indignant that the same Senate would not take your motion to immortalize the Late Dr. Humphrey Nwosu? Come on, quit the theater.
Senator, don’t you think it is an insult and a major dishonor to the Late Dr. Nwosu’s memory and legacy for you and your gang of constitution-crackers and democracy-demolishers to pretend that you care about the Constitution, rule of law, due process, and democracy—values that Nwosu lived and exemplified? When do porks care for holy spaces?
Truth be told, you cannot give what you lack, Senator. Cowards cannot immortalize a courageous hero. Corruption cannot birth integrity. Those marinated and fermented in insipid, filthy lucre cannot rise in freshness to immortalize decency. Dr. Nwosu is already immortalized in the hearts, minds, and souls of decent men and women. His immortalization was further cemented in Ibrahim Babangida’s recent karmic confessions.
Nwosu is an immortalization in contrast. Everyday of your pernicious and perfidious performance is Nwosu’s immortalization – in contrast. When Nigerians watch men who mortgaged their integrity for $5,000 to subvert their constitutional democracy, they remember a man who rejected a billion dollars and preserved his name and integrity. That is the highest form of immortalization.
When history engraves Nwosu’s name in a marble of gold, your atrocious chicaneries will be subscripted in footnotes. Posterity will count Nwosu among the few good men and women who fought at the risk of their own lives to keep our constitutional republic. But it will draw your cartoons in the etch-a-sketch of those who betrayed it for a few foreign notes.
Thank you, Senator, because you are all walking immortalizations of Humphrey Nwosu. Your cheap and confessional existence is a daily reminder of Nwosu’s painful exit, and your dollar gains are a daily reminder of Nigeria’s pain and loss in Nwosu’s death. Your presence reminds us of the absence of an option Nwosu gave us. Option A4 would have kept your likes out of Abuja. Humphrey Nwosu is virtuously alive in our hearts; but with your souls traded for a yam porridge, you are the walking dead.
So, as Jesus advised the Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for Humphrey Nwosu; weep for yourself and your children. Weep for the impending suffering and hardship upon you and your children. And when you weep, cry me a river.

[28/03, 11:50 am] Ralph British: Yoruba senators said Humphrey Nwosu’s June 12 election was not successful but they pushed for Abiola to be given posthumous GCFR as winner of the election, how can he be recognized for Election he did not Win? If you said the man failed for not announcing a winner under gunpoint, even when history said he took military to court so they can declare a winner, but was dissolved two days to the final judgment, how can you now say Abiola won, you can only say he was leading in the election, at the time the military stopped announcement, Taraba was even still remaining, are you saying he should have announced the result incomplete?
Then man in question was just a civil servant following the law, not a military officer.
If its so easy to dare the military, why did all of the actors run into exile, why did they not stay and be killed so that we can honour them, I am talking about the likes of Tinubu, while they all had the resources to leave the country, the man had to stay back.
The yoruba’s have not stopped benefitted from that Annulment till today, they have infact made it duty to throw it at the face of Nigeria at every slightest chance to get political or economic advantage on anything, in 26 years of democracy, they have become president 10years, vice president 8years, speaker for 12years, they controlled the government of Obasanjo and Buhari and now Tinubu, they are first considered in the scheme of this in the country, June 12 have Been made democracy day.
All this just because Nwosu organised and conducted the freest and fairest election, he made June 12 not abiola, because without him there won’t be June 12, Abiola was only a product of Nwosu’s integrity, forthrightness and competence.
But I understand why they have refused aside the man being an igbo man, in Nigeria, integrity and competence is never a virture, not worth rewarding people for, even the people with the worst character are rewarded, above people with Integrity, they are simply sending a signal to inec chairman to say look, having Integrity does not pay, doing the right thing does not pay, conducting a free and fair election does not pay.
He can even be given the highest honour in the land for doing their bidding instead
Of serving the country in all honesty.
