The Rivers State House of Assembly has initiated impeachment proceedings against the State Governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara.
The source reports this would be the second time the Rivers State House of Assembly will initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara.
This is coming after the State House of Assembly resumed plenary sitting earlier than the previously scheduled resumption date of January 26.
Major Jack, Major Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, during plenary on Thursday, read the gross misconduct charges against the Governor, signed by 26 members of the Assembly.
The Speaker, Martins Amaewhule said the notice of gross misconduct will be served to Governor Fubara within the next 7 days.
