The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, winner of the Saturday (yesterday, November 16) off-season governorship election in the ‘Sunshine’ State

His declaration came after he won the governorship poll in all the 18 local government areas of the state.

Aiyedatiwa who won in Ese Odo Local Government Area in the last LG result presented on Sunday at the State Collation Centre in Akure, had previously won in the 17 LGs that had earlier been announced.

In his final declaration of the result, the State Returning Officer, Prof Olayemi Akinwumi, said the APC candidate polled a total of 366,781 votes to defeat Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received a total 117,845 votes.

“Aiyedatiwa Lucky Orimisan of APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby returned elected,” Prof. Akinwumi announced.
