The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), a move confirmed through a statement by outgoing FPRO DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Hundeyin, previously the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command since March 2022, brings a wealth of experience, including roles at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Lagos and the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan, in 2020.
The IGP has tasked him with leveraging his communications and security expertise to enhance the Force’s public relations and maintain positive engagement with the public, marking a significant shift as Adejobi transitions to Delta State following his recent promotion.
Hundeyin, who holds a BA in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan, is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and other professional bodies. His appointment comes amid efforts to strengthen the Force’s communication strategy, with Adejobi praising his proactive media engagement during his Lagos tenure.
