The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission has officially issued a 60-day notice for the conduct of local government council elections across the state, reaffirming its readiness to proceed with the exercise scheduled for August 17, 2026.
The announcement marks another major step in the preparations for the grassroots elections, which are expected to usher in a new set of elected officials to administer the affairs of local government councils across Bauchi State.
The development was disclosed in a statement released on Friday in Bauchi by the Secretary of the Commission, Nuru Abdulhamid.
