The New Youth Front for Atiku (NYFA) has strongly criticized recent remarks by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, referring to the former Rivers Governor as “a man struggling with midlife crises.”
In a statement released by its spokesperson, Prof. Gold Emmanuel, the group dismissed Wike’s comments as “delusional ramblings,” emphasizing their unwavering focus on supporting Atiku Abubakar’s leadership in the 2027 elections.
“We won’t waste a second on irrelevant distractions,” Emmanuel asserted, reaffirming NYFA’s commitment to resetting Nigeria under an Atiku-led government. The group was responding to Wike’s earlier claim that Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, had lost political relevance.
Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, had stated that Atiku had been rejected by Nigerians, pointing to his defeats in the 2019 and 2023 presidential elections. “We didn’t even contest the local government elections. Atiku says he’s been rejected in Rivers, but after losing multiple times, it’s clear Nigerians have rejected him,” Wike remarked, urging Atiku to step aside.
