Former Osun State Governor and immediate past Internal Affair Minister, Ogbeni RAUF AREGBESOLA
Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that Governor Rauf Aregbesola and his factional members’ announcement that they have quit the party is not new as they had left even before the 2022 governorship election.
In a statement on Monday – today, January 27 – the Director of Media and Information of APC, Kola Olabisi, however, chided that the former internal affairs minister’s caucus’s official announcement of their plan would lead to the end of their political career in 2026.

Aregbesola and his caucus, Omoluabi Progressives, had announced their decision to officially quit the APC.

But Olabisi said there was nothing new in the announcement since some of them had either been expelled or suspended because of their anti-party activities.

“How would any rational human being who has been suspended or expelled announce his resignation to the whole world again? Is that not an example of superfluity!

“We, in the Osun State APC, shall be happy to miss the political irritants and deviants who had since left the party by way of body and soul before the 2022 governorship election in the state.

“You cannot be saying you are in our party and be working against the interest of the same party.

“You are agents of the PDP in Osun State and you are still in service to the ruling party in the state.
“The recent announcement of your either forming or joining another party is the imminent beginning of your political funeral, which will end in your final burial through the 2026 governorship election,” APC said.
