Indigenous Capacity vs. Seasonal Patronage
In the deep traditions of Igboland, identity is not a costume worn for convenience during harvest seasons, nor can it be rented for political leverage. Our ancestors understood that true stewardship stems from an unbreakable bond with the land.
They enshrined this boundary in the timeless philosophy:
No tree, no matter how massive, can stretch across its boundary to claim ownership of another forest.
As the race for Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency intensifies for the 2027 general elections, a recurring phenomenon has resurfaced: non-indigenous Okumfu contenders attempting to obscure our primary political roots with seasonal generosity, temporary local office placements, and superficial, valueless slogans.
1. The Trap of Political Camouflage
Every election cycle, external Okumfu political figures arrive in Aba carrying elaborate promises. They build temporary alliances, distribute short-term handouts, and speak warmly of “Enyimba spirit.” But when the election cycle closes, where do their primary loyalties and long-term investments lie?
a. Seasonal Residency: Their physical and political roots remain outside Aba la Ohazu. They treat our commercial capital as a lucrative stepping stone rather than a sacred heritage. Like the children of Ammon, Canaan must be devoured.
b. Vulnerability to External Mandates: A representative whose ancestral roots lie elsewhere will always remain susceptible to external political bosses (godfathers) from their home zones. When Aba’s interests clash with the interests of their home constituencies, Aba is inevitably sacrificed.
c. The Post-Election Risk: Beyond identity, candidates operating without deep legal and procedural compliance on non-indigenous platforms expose our constituency to perpetual litigation, risking nullified elections and prolonged legislative vacancies.
2. The Homegrown Standard: Authentic Roots & Uncompromised Loyalty
Aba la Ohazu does not require imported Okumfu patrons to manage its affairs. Our constituency requires a leader whose identity, allegiance, and public record are deeply rooted in this city.
Elder Justice Rowland Chimaobim Ajuzieogu, PDP Candidate for Aba North and South House of Representatives, embodies this authentic indigenous stewardship:
a. Unbroken Roots: An authentic son of the soil whose heritage, lineage, and personal investments are indivisibly tied to Aba.
b. Proven Institutional Leadership: A seasoned public servant, legal mind, and community leader who has served Ndi Igbo through the Oha Ukwa Ngwa Congress Incorporated, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Aba Union, a former Minority Leader of ABSU SRC, and decades of dedicated public Christian ministry.
c. Uncompromising Legislative Vision: A leader who answers exclusively to the people of Aba North and Aba South – free from external godfathers or imported political obligations.
3. Consolidating the Indigenous Forest
When a forest nurtures its own Iroko, it gains long-term shelter, strength, and security. It is time for Aba North and Aba South voters to put an end to outsourced okumfu representation and assert their political sovereignty.
When people stand up for what is right, injustice gives way because injustice cannot stand forever.
a. To the Non-Indigenous Okumfu Contenders: Respect the ancient principle of Oshishi Ejighi Akuwa Mba. Return to your home constituencies and contribute to your native forests.
b. To Ndi Aba la Ohazu: Protect your political inheritance. Align behind a candidate who possesses the intellectual capacity, legal standing, and indigenous authority to defend Aba in Abuja.
This is in tandem with the Holy Scriptures:
Deuteronomy 17:15 (GNT) Be sure that the man you choose to be king is the one whom the Lord has chosen. He must be one of your own people; do not make a foreigner your king.
Let us stand resolute with Elder Justice Rowland Chimaobim Ajuzieogu, PDP Candidate for Aba North and South Federal Constituency, as we build a future anchored on dignity, capacity, Godliness, and indigenous leadership!
