As Anambra State marked the 34th anniversary of its creation, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for sustaining what he described as an unprecedented momentum of development across the state.
In a goodwill message to the government and people of Anambra, delivered through his media aide, Mr. Emma Madu, Udeze praised the contributions of the state’s founding fathers—both living and deceased—as well as past governors, while singling out Soludo’s administration as “exceptional.”
“Though previous governments made significant efforts in developing the state, the present Soludo administration is outstanding, considering the unprecedented milestones he has achieved in just three years across all sectors of the state’s economy. Presently, Anambra ranks very high among states in the country, particularly in economic and industrial revolution,” the Speaker said.
Udeze listed some of the gains recorded under Soludo, including massive road infrastructure, improved healthcare delivery, employment opportunities, enhanced security, youth empowerment, free education, agricultural reforms, and environmental regeneration. He also noted that the construction of a world-class Government House and Lodge—long envisioned since 1991—was finally being realised under Soludo.
The Speaker further highlighted the synergy between the executive and the 8th Anambra State House of Assembly, saying their partnership has yielded positive results through laws and motions targeted at the state’s development and the well-being of its citizens.
He urged wealthy indigenes, particularly captains of industry, to embrace the governor’s “think home” philosophy by investing in the state’s industrial sector and supporting efforts to strengthen security.
Udeze also called on residents to continue to pray for peace and progress in Anambra while pledging the Assembly’s support for Governor Soludo ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
