Two children of prominent Anambra-born businessman and multi-billionaire, Chief Lucky Adimike, have been arraigned before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja over the alleged murder of their father.
The defendants, Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony and Adimike Chinyere Stephany, were arraigned alongside a third defendant, Comfort Ajibade, on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
According to court documents, the deceased is identified as Adimike Godwin.
The three defendants were brought before FCT High Court 13 on Monday to answer to a four-count charge relating to the alleged killing of the businessman.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred on May 15, 2026, at the deceased’s residence in Guzape, Abuja.
The police said they received a distress call from a relative who became concerned after repeated attempts to reach the businessman proved unsuccessful.
Detectives who responded to the residence reportedly found him unconscious in his room with multiple stab wounds.
He was immediately taken to Karu General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed him dead.
Following a directive by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, detectives launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
Five persons, including the deceased’s driver and gateman, were initially arrested in connection with the investigation. However, upon the conclusion of the investigation, the police filed charges against Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany, and Comfort Ajibade.
The defendants are facing four counts, including criminal conspiracy to commit culpable homicide and culpable homicide in relation to the death of Adimike Godwin.
At the end of the proceedings, the court adjourned the matter until September 30, 2026, for further hearing and ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre pending trial.
The FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice for victims of crime while upholding the constitutional rights and the presumption of innocence of all persons involved in the judicial process.
The case has attracted significant public attention due to the prominence of the deceased businessman and the allegation that two of his children are among those standing trial in connection with his death. The allegations remain before the court, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
