Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, is set to deliver the keynote address at the 2025 CORFEPS End-of-the-Year Dinner and Honours Award, scheduled to hold on Thursday in Abuja.
The event, which will take place at the State House Conference Centre Hall, is themed: “Harnessing CORFEPS as a Wealth of Knowledge for Nation Building.”
It is expected to attract top government officials, public service leaders, policy experts, and members of the Committee of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries (CORFEPS).
In a statement signed by the Chair of the CORFEPS Planning Committee, Dr. Adaoha Okwuosa, the organization announced a new initiative for this year’s ceremony—the CORFEPS Honours Award.
According to Okwuosa, the award category is being instituted to formally recognise distinguished personalities who contributed significantly to the development and transformation of Nigeria’s Federal Public Service.
“This addition will kick-start with honour and recognition of Fathers and founders of CORFEPS. These individuals supported the growth of the Federal Public Service as it is known today,” she said.
The event aims not only to celebrate the achievements of the public service community but also to create a platform for reflecting on reforms, sharing expertise, and strengthening collaboration among retired and serving technocrats.
Akume’s keynote address is expected to highlight the strategic importance of CORFEPS as a repository of institutional memory and a vital resource for national policy development.
