Former First Lady Aisha Buhari, along with her son Yusuf and other family members, have departed Daura, Katsina State, and relocated to their residence in Kaduna, just 12 days after the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s burial.

July 13, 2025: Former President Muhammadu Buhari passed away at age 82 while undergoing medical treatment in London.

July 15, 2025: His burial took place in Daura, according to Islamic rites.

July 27, 2025: Aisha Buhari and her entourage returned to Kaduna, arriving via the Nigerian Air Force Base and were received with official protocols.

Upon arrival, they were welcomed by Kaduna State Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, along with the Majority Leader of the State Assembly Rt. Hon. Munira Tanimu, among other senior officials.

They were then escorted to their home in Ungwan Rimi GRA, Kaduna—a long-standing residence of the Buhari family in the city.

Daura served as the family’s base following Buhari’s exit from the presidency in May 2023.

Their return to Kaduna signifies both the conclusion of burial rituals and the family’s resettlement in one of their long-term homes.
