The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo has disclosed that over 150 aviation companies would be participating in the forthcoming Nigeria International Airshow expected to hold in April, 2025.
Briefing newsmen in his Abuja office earlier today (Thursday, November 7) the Aviation Minister noted that the three-day fair is aimed at promoting Africa’s aviation industry and driving economic growth.
This announcement came barely 24 hours after aviation stakeholders brainstormed on aircraft leasing insurance.
According to him, the Nigeria International Airshow (NIA) is an amalgamated marketplace for Aviation and Aerospace Development in Africa, aiming at leading aviation events on the continent.
“NIA, a foremost event in Nigeria, is in alignment with continental and global initiatives such as IATA, ICAO, AfBAA, AFCAC and CAA,” Keyamo told journalists in his office.
“The Federal Ministry of Aviation is gearing up to showcase the Nigeria International Airshow, a three-day biennial conference and airshow aimed at stimulating aviation as a positive tool for economic development in Africa.
“The event will bring together top industry stakeholders, investors, regulators, and government bodies to share ideas, experiences, and challenges, with the goal of fostering intra-African trade, tourism, and investment.”
“I’m excited to see the impact it will have on the country’s economic development.
“The objectives are to promote the African Continental Free Trade Area and Single African Air Transport Market, unlock Nigeria’s aviation potential and showcase infrastructure, foster collaboration and investment in aviation infrastructure development, enhance economic activities, job creation, and tourism.
“We want to run a one trillion dollar economy. This government is headed there. The tough decisions taken will stay us in that direction.
“So, this event promises to be a game-changer for Nigeria’s aviation industry and the African continent.
“The event is scheduled to take place in April next year and will be a powerful platform to advance Nigeria’s aviation efforts in the global aviation space.”
