At 66, the milestones tell a story not measured by years alone, but by service, leadership and lasting footprints. Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has paid glowing tribute to former Secretary to the State Government, Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas, as he marks his 66th birth anniversary.
In a goodwill message released through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described Agas as a consummate leader whose influence on Delta State’s political and administrative development continues to resonate long after his years in active public office. From the newsroom to the courtroom, and eventually to the chambers of governance, Agas’ journey has been one shaped by versatility and commitment.
Born in Oteri-Ughelli, he distinguished himself as a journalist, lawyer and lawmaker, earning respect across professional and political divides. According to the governor, Agas’ ability to combine experience with humility made him a stabilising force in government and a dependable guide in moments of decision-making. As he celebrates another year, Oborevwori prayed for good health, renewed strength and many more years of impactful service, describing the former SSG as one of the state’s enduring pillars of governance. At 66, the tribute suggests, Festus Ovie Agas stands not merely as a celebrant, but as a symbol of a life committed to the progress of Delta State.
