The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated ₦302.95 billion in revenue for October 2026, marking a 7.13 per cent growth of ₦20.16 billion over the ₦282.79 billion recorded in September 2026.

The official revenue figures and operational updates were released on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in a statement issued at the Command Headquarters in Apapa, Lagos, by the Customs Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Isah Sulaiman, on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Murtala Mu’azu.

The strong monthly financial performance highlights the early achievements of Comptroller Murtala Mu’azu, who assumed leadership of the flagship command on September 29, 2026.

Upon taking charge, Comptroller Mu’azu prioritized trade facilitation, continuous stakeholder engagement, strict statutory compliance, and aggressive anti-smuggling enforcement across the maritime corridor.

Parallel to its revenue collection drive, the command sustained rigorous border security measures during the month under review. Enforcement operations led to the interception of 437 sachets of Cannabis Sativa, weighing a combined 392.5 kilograms.

The illicit consignments were uncovered across two separate import containers, specifically bearing registration numbers MSKU0486747 and TEMU6149358—and carried an estimated total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦196.13 million.

Addressing maritime operators and port users, CSC Isah Sulaiman reaffirmed the command’s determination to eliminate operational delays at the port while issuing a stern warning to fraudulent importers against non-compliance, false cargo declarations, and illicit trading practices.

He assured the public that the Apapa Command will maintain its aggressive enforcement posture to safeguard national revenue and foster a seamless commercial environment at Nigeria’s busiest seaport.
