The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the deployment of four new Commissioners of Police (CPs) to lead state commands across Enugu, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Ondo states.

The announcement was made on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in an official press statement issued by Torty Njoku Kalu, the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of the PSC, at the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

According to the Commission, the deployment followed rigorous screening interviews designed to evaluate the senior officers’ technical fitness, moral standing, and suitability to head their respective state commands.

Under the new postings, CP Sunday J. A. Okoebor, who previously managed the Police Accounts and Budget at Force Headquarters (FHQ) in Abuja, moves to Plateau State. CP Fidelis Ogarabe steps into the leadership of the Enugu State Command following his previous assignment as the Commissioner of Police for the INTERPOL Annex in Lagos.

Meanwhile, CP Sheikh Mohammed Danko transitions from heading the Force Intelligence Annex in Lagos to lead the Nasarawa State Command, and CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola, formerly the Commissioner of Police for Special Inquiry at Force Headquarters, assumes command in Ondo State.

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd.), affirmed that the redeployments align strictly with Section 215(1)(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which empowers the PSC to appoint Commissioners of Police for all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, PSC Board Member Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (JSC rtd.) noted that the interview process confirmed the newly posted CPs were worthy in learning and character for their positions, while charging them to remain strictly impartial, act with high professional integrity, and uphold the highest standards of public protection in their new duty posts.
