Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has urged political leaders across the South-East region to abandon opposition politics and embrace full integration into the mainstream of the Federal Government.
Speaking on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at a high-level political stakeholders’ meeting in Awka, Governor Soludo stressed that active participation in central governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is essential for securing sustained economic development and vital infrastructure projects for the geopolitical zone.
The meeting brought together key representatives from major political parties across the state, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Accord Party.
Addressing the delegates, Governor Soludo declared that the era of political isolationism, which gained traction in the region following the 2015 general elections, must now give way to strategic collaboration at the center.
”If the 5,000 votes President Tinubu received in Anambra during the 2023 presidential election could still help attract significant projects to our state and the broader region, imagine what would happen if we mobilised the electorate to give him massive, unified support,” Soludo asserted.
Describing the emerging inter-party coalition as a historic political realignment, the governor instructed coalition members to streamline their structures and adopt intensive door-to-door grassroots mobilization techniques, drawing inspiration from the effective political campaigns of 1983.
He also acknowledged the Federal Government’s ongoing macroeconomic efforts to stabilize foreign exchange and resolve fiscal challenges, while calling on field mobilizers to remain focused and ignore social media distractions.
Supporting the governor’s stance, APGA National Chairman Sly Ezeokenwa characterised the cross-party alliance as an unprecedented landmark in Anambra’s political history, affirming his party’s commitment to aligning its organizational structure with the governor’s strategic vision.
Concurrently, Anambra State APC Chairman Emma Anosike praised Soludo for initiating the synergy, noting that the coalition transcends traditional party divisions to position Anambra and the South-East firmly within the federal government’s developmental framework.
