Renowned Nollywood actress Victoria Volta, formerly known professionally as Victoria Nwogu, is embarking on a major strategic expansion in her cinematic career.

Moving beyond her established screen presence, Volta has officially announced plans to take on creative direction, executive management, and full-scale film production responsibilities.

The announcement was delivered during an exclusive press briefing held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, inside the Eko Hotels & Suites Grand Ballroom in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking to journalists and industry stakeholders, Volta outlined her vision to foster original storytelling, invest in emerging Nigerian creative talent, and build multi-territory co-production frameworks.

”Acting has allowed me to bring complex characters to life, but stepping into production gives me the platform to build world-class stories from the ground up,” said Victoria Volta, addressing the venue during her keynote.

“Nollywood is at an unprecedented turning point globally, and taking ownership behind the scenes is essential for creating sustainable infrastructure and authentic African narratives.”

Joining her at the briefing, Chidi Okonkwo, Lead Production Executive at Volta Studios, confirmed that the media outfit is finalizing development on a slate of upcoming feature projects.

”Victoria’s transition into full production management represents a natural evolution,” stated Okonkwo. “Our upcoming slate will combine high technical values with deeply compelling domestic stories, setting a standard for competitive global distribution.”

Further commentary was provided by Amina Bello, Head of Communications at the African Film Creators Guild, who emphasized the broader significance of established talent transitioning to behind-the-camera roles.

”When leading actors step into producer roles, it strengthens our overall creative control and commercial leverage in international markets,” noted Bello during her remarks. “Victoria Volta’s initiative reflects a vital trend that elevates Nollywood’s capacity for high-yield, sustainable filmmaking.”
