A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and member of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for bolstering the security framework of Kano State through the establishment of a new Army Battalion and an Artillery Regiment.

Dr. Kwankwaso delivered the commendation during a press briefing held on Saturday morning, October 31, 2026, in Abuja.

He highlighted that the federal intervention strategically places the newly established Army Battalion in Tudun Wada Local Government Area and the Artillery Regiment in Dambatta Local Government Area to curtail banditry, insurgency, and criminal encroachments along border corridors.

The strategic deployment follows an earlier announcement by military authorities on Thursday, October 29, 2026, where Army spokespersons confirmed the restructuring as part of a nationwide initiative to strengthen operational responsiveness and reinforce local security.

Speaking on behalf of the APC political leadership, Dr. Kwankwaso noted:

”The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated an uncommon sense of urgency and commitment in addressing the security needs of Kano State. The establishment of these military formations provides a critical layer of defense for our communities and reinforces ongoing efforts by security agencies to neutralize threats across the state.”

Dr. Kwankwaso further urged local communities, traditional institutions, and civic leaders in Kano State to collaborate closely with the military forces deployed to ensure maximum operational synergy and long-term peace across the region.
