President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), to lead the newly created Directorate of Air Mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential re-election campaign Council.

The announcement was officially issued on Sunday evening, October 25, 2026, from the APC Presidential Campaign Secretariat in Abuja as part of broader efforts to build an operational framework ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Under the strategic leadership structure approved by the presidency, Keyamo will direct nationwide logistics and campaign flight movements.

He will be supported by two key aviation sector administrators: Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and Farouk Umar, Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), both serving as Deputy Directors of the Directorate.

Releasing the operational framework to news correspondents at the campaign secretariat, campaign spokesperson Bayo Onanuga stated that the appointment of Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku and Mr. Farouk Umar alongside Keyamo integrates critical aviation-sector expertise directly into the campaign’s logistics engine.

Onanuga highlighted that their combined technical experience will strengthen the directorate’s capacity to handle the complex flight planning, regional transport logistics, and rapid-response demands associated with high-tempo nationwide campaign travel.

The campaign council noted that while the new directorate will streamline all aerial travel, its operations will strictly observe national aviation safety standards and electoral guidelines to maintain a clear distinction between official government duties and party campaign functions.
