A senior officer with the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Sir Emma Osakwe has donated five trophies to Isho Mix Secondary School, Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Osakwe who is the Patron of the Purple House in the college, made the donation to redeem a significant promise he made during the school’s last annual inter-house sports competition.
During the sports event, the NIMASA officer had observed that the existing trophies in the college were worn out and needed replacement. Moved by a desire to boost the morale of the student-athletes and honor their competitive spirit, a solemn pledge was made to provide brand-new, gleaming trophies for future competitions.
That promise became a reality when five complete sets of trophies were officially handed over to the Principal of the school, Mrs. A.N. Okwuenu during a morning assembly recently. The presentation drew applause and admiration from both students and staff, who gathered to witness the momentous occasion.
Speaking briefly during the handover, the Purple House Patron, who was accompanied by his wife, Lady Victoria Osakwe, emphasized the importance of hard work, dedication, and healthy competition among students, noting that excellence deserves to be celebrated with dignity.
In response, the Principal expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the school management, students, and staff, commending the Patron for the generous gesture and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Community Secondary School.
The new trophies are expected to add an extra layer of excitement and motivation to upcoming inter-house sports events, inspiring students to run, jump, and compete with even greater passion.
