Thousands of women members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the Kwara Central Senatorial District converged on Ilorin on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for a massive rally to demonstrate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s bid for the Kwara Central Senatorial seat in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
The rally, which commenced in the morning hours in the state capital, saw party faithful clad in matching uniforms marching through key routes in Ilorin to mobilize grassroots voters ahead of the poll.
Speaking to reporters during the demonstration, primary organizer and spokesperson Hajia Lawal stated that the initiative was born out of strong grassroots commitment to ensure victory for all ruling party candidates.
”This public demonstration is rooted in our love, support, and commitment to mobilising votes for our hard-working leader and Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who is contesting for the Senate, as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates,” Lawal declared.
“APC is in charge, as evident in this turnout. We didn’t hire anybody, these are voluntary supporters from across Kwara Central who came out in uniform to show that we are moving forward.”
Also addressing the crowd, Hajia Falilat Saka (popularly known as Iya Eleja) emphasized that the women’s coalition stands firmly behind Governor AbdulRazaq, House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, and all APC flagbearers.
Saka praised Governor AbdulRazaq’s track record on gender inclusion, highlighting the prominent appointment of female leaders as commissioners, Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and Special Assistants (SAs) across state administration.
”We can beat our chest and tell the whole world that APC is 100% in Kwara State,” Saka said. “Today’s rally shows that women in Kwara Central and across the state are solidly behind our governor and party candidates, and they will all have the day in the 2027 general elections.”
The rally forms part of early electoral mobilization by the ruling party to consolidate its hold on Kwara State following key governance milestones cited by party stakeholders. Speakers urged residents to remain united and maintain their support for the APC to sustain developmental programs across the state.
