Hon. Gloria Akobundu, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Women Mobilisation Wing, has backed the call by the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, for Nigerian women to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

‎Akobundu gave the support at the APC Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit held on Monday in Abuja. The summit, convened by the First Lady, brought together APC women leaders and representatives of more than 500 women support groups.

Akobundu, also Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said Nigeria was on the path of renewed greatness. “Nigeria is on the path of renewed greatness. Continuity is essential if we are to complete the transformation that has begun,” she said.

‎She also congratulated women who benefited from the empowerment programme, which included tricycles, sewing machines, refrigerators and agricultural implements.  ‎“These items are not mere gifts; they are instruments of economic liberation,” Akobundu said.

‎She urged the beneficiaries to use the items productively to improve their livelihoods and contribute to their communities. ‎Akobundu also called on women voters across the six geopolitical zones, particularly in the South-East, to support the APC and President Tinubu in the 2027 election.

‎“I urge women voters everywhere to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the consolidation of the good works already set in motion,” she said. ‎The summit was attended by APC women leaders, First Ladies of APC-controlled states, state women leaders, faith-based mobilisers and grassroots organisers.
