The CityBoy Movement, a pro-All Progressives Congress (APC) political support group convened by Seyi Tinubu, has officially kicked off an extensive mobilization drive aimed at registering 250,000 youths as members in Osun State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the movement’s Osun State chapter executives on Sunday, October 4, 2026, held in Osogbo, the state capital.
Addressing coordinators and members during the event, the State Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Abiodun Sowade, outlined a 30-day target to complete the registration process across all local government areas in the state.
“Our target over the next thirty days is to register 250,000 Osun youths as members of the CityBoy Movement. It is an ambitious target, and we must approach it with seriousness,” Sowade stated. “Every coordinator must understand the assignment ahead. Every local government structure must be active. We must be organized in how we reach people, document registrations, and report our progress.”
Sowade emphasized that the grassroots expansion is crucial not only for political alignment but also for sensitizing citizens to key federal government initiatives. He noted that programs such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), CrediCorp, major infrastructure development, and key economic reforms require continuous community engagement to ensure maximum reach and impact.
“These initiatives are important, but their impact depends partly on how well people know about them and how effectively they can access them. That is one reason the CityBoy Movement must remain active at the grassroots,” Sowade added.
Also speaking at the gathering, the Patron of the CityBoy Movement in Osun State, Mr. Femi Oyetola, commended the state executives for their readiness and reiterated the federal government’s ongoing contributions to regional development, including newly awarded road construction projects aimed at boosting socio-economic activities across the state.
The registration initiative will deploy ward-level and local government coordinators across Osun State over the coming weeks to systematically register young voters and build momentum for the movement ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
